They can all be downloaded below. Our Kiwi Chat mornings take approx. 3 hours with a morning tea break in the middle so this is the time frame reflected in the planning.

The goal of these Kiwi Chat days is to provide a fun morning of activities with a strong focus on modelling communication while participating in the activities. All activities have been carefully planned by the TalkLink team with this in mind.

It is highly recommended that every student and adult at the event has their own communication system. These systems can be low tech (coreboards or PODD books) or high tech (Communication Devices).

We also recommend having a large wall coreboard available to model language on as you run the morning. (These can be purchased from our website here)

The planning folders below all follow a similar format. Each folder has all the planning you will need to run the morning. It includes

  • An Introduction PowerPoint for the whole group activity to introduce the theme with pictures, songs, games and videos.  The links to the videos and songs needed from You Tube are on the slides.
  • A pdf Planning Document that lists each activity, the equipment needed and instructions on how to run it. This document also includes a Visual Schedule and a home/school news circle sheet to complete at the end of the morning.
